In today's times, people have been hit with unfortunate circumstances. There are many more people who went from wealthy, to middle class down to strictly poverty. Some have become homeless and are too ashamed to tell their friends and family. Can you imagine, having a good job, not having to worry about finances, able to take care of yourself and your family and then BOOM! You got laid off and now you part of the growing homeless community. We cannot ignore these people's pleas for help. It is not their fault that they are in the situation they are in. Some people are too embarrased to ask for help or do not have friends and family who will help them. As I drive by and see the homeless, it makes me upset. They do not have a home to go to, they have to worry about getting their next meal if they get one and they have to worry about people taking their stuff. It is really sad. A friend of mine at work Mariann mentioned to me when we first met that she on occassion goes and feeds the homeless. I decided to send her an email and plan a day of feeding the homeless. On July 14, Mariann and I will pass out water and food and let the homeless know we care. I am representing SK Energy and we need to focus on reducing chronic hunger and bringing awareness to the problem.
